Roma full-back Alessandro Florenzi is reportedly considering making a move to Everton, after being deemed surplus to requirements.

Corriere della Sera claim the 36-cap Italy international has accepted his future lies elsewhere, and is giving serious thought to a move to Everton, who are interested.

Carlo Ancelotti is thought to be keen on his fellow countryman, who has been with Roma since 2002.

Florenzi rose through the club’s youth ranks and has gone on to make 280 first-team appearances.

But he’ll seemingly do well to add many more to that tally, as he is now described by Corriere as being a ‘redundancy’ at the club.

Florenzi is said to want a ‘first-tier’ team, with Everton named in the report as being in the player’s head.

No offers have yet been forthcoming for the 29-year-old.

TBR’s View – Florenzi could flourish under Ancelotti

So it seems Florenzi is on the market, and there could be a real chance of a bargain here for Everton.

The player is vastly experienced and also versatile, having played many times in central midfield in his career.

With an Italian manager at the helm in Ancelotti, Florenzi could become revitalised on Merseyside and in-turn breathe new life into the right-back position currently being occupied by Seamus Coleman.
