Celtic are in the hunt for a new striker, but a new report has updated the situation regarding West Ham United forward Albian Ajeti.

The Bhoys have been strongly linked with a potential loan move for the Swiss forward over the past week and the 23-year-old appears to be a potential reinforcement in the striking department.

The Scottish Sun has now updated on the situation and it seems Celtic could be made to wait.

Celtic can, reportedly, sign the player on a season-long loan move which could then be made permanent for £5 million at the end of the season, should he succeed at Parkhead.

However, it is reported that the player has returned to Switzerland and asked for time to consider his future.

Ajeti has struggled for first-team football at West Ham this season.

The striker has featured just nine times in the Premier League and failed to score for the club in 2019-20.

Celtic fans should not be too worried about that form. At his previous club Basel, Ajeti scored 21 goals in 43 games in 2018-19 and would likely be a serious goal threat in the Scottish Premiership.

So Celtic fans might want to hope that the striker’s time back home leads him to the decision that Glasgow would be a good fit.
