Dutch outlet Ajax Showtime have claimed that 17-year-old goalkeeper Dani van den Heuvel has decided to reject a new deal at Ajax in order to join Leeds United – and the teen has already confirmed his Ajax exit on Instagram.
Leeds have sprung into life over the past 24 hours on a transfer front. Having already completed permanent moves for Illan Meslier and Helder Costa, the club confirmed another loan for Jack Harrison on Monday.
That was following by the £1million signing of Joe Gelhardt from Wigan Athletic. On Tuesday, 16-year-old whizzkid Charlie Allen signed a three-year deal from Linfield – before Mateusz Bogusz agreed a new three-year contract.
Now, it appears another addition is close. The report states that van den Heuvel – who has played 10 times for Ajax’s Under-17 side – is on his way to Leeds after rejecting an Ajax contract. He confirmed an exit on Instagram.
Leeds have brought in a number of goalkeepers of late, with Kamil Miazek joining after a spell at Ajax. Italian stopper Elia Caprile joined from Chievo, while Meslier looks as though he is now first choice ahead of Kiko Casilla.
Netherlands Under-17 international van den Heuven is another teenager star that looks set to sign for Leeds, though, as the Whites continue to force the issue this summer. Fulham’s Cody Drameh has also been linked.
