According to a fresh report from the Telegraph, Tottenham and Chelsea will have to pay £35m if they want to land Andre Onana from Ajax.

The 24-year-old stopper has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in Europe in the last two seasons.

He played a key role for Ajax last season as they came within touching distance of reaching the Champions League final.

Both Spurs and Chelsea have been linked with a move for Onana in recent weeks, with the Express claiming the London duo are keeping close tabs. Barcelona are also thought to be monitoring the situation.

However, this fresh report has seemingly stated the price that the Dutch giants will demand for their number one.

This is a different stance from that reported this week, with L’Equipe claiming Onana may well be allowed to leave for as little as £26m.

Onana has only conceded 21 goals in the Eredivisie this season. Within that, he’s kept eight clean sheets in 24 games, an impressive enough ratio of a shut out every three games.

£35m, not a heavy price to pay for a top goalkeeper if Spurs or Chelsea want Onana – TBR View

At just 24, Onana has years and years ahead of him at the top level of the game. If his upward curve continues, then whoever signs him is getting a brilliant goalkeeper for the next decade or so.

Given the likes of Kepa have moved for around £80m in recent years and Ederson and Alisson have arrived for over £50m each, £35m for Onana could be a bargain.

Spurs are clearly keen on finding someone to replace Hugo Lloris, while Chelsea haven’t got full faith in Kepa given a shakey season under Frank Lampard.

It seems a no-brainer really, this one. Both Spurs and Chelsea can solve their goalkeeping situation for years by landing Onana now.
