Tottenham Hotspur are set to ramp up their push for Cristian Romero after sealing the signings of Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini, the Telegraph report.
Pushing forward
Fabio Paratici, Tottenham’s new sporting director, has enjoyed a busy week at the club as he begins to stamp his mark of the team.
And the incoming additions could come thick and fast now, with Spurs looking to tie up a deal for Romero.
The transfer is said to be expected to reach over £40 million in terms of price, which would make him Tottenham’s second most expensive signing of all time.
Big money
Romero appears to have emerged as Tottenham’s very first choice target to lead their defence next term.
Nuno and Paratici seem to have made strengthening Tottenham’s backline a real priority and Romero could be an appealing addition.

The Argentina international was recently voted in the Copa America Team of the Tournament and also won Serie A’s Defender of the Year award.
At the age of 23, he is considered one of the brightest defensive prospects in European football.
And Tottenham would be making quite a coup, if they did manage to land him this summer.
