French newspaper L’Equipe have reported that Liverpool left-back Adam Lewis has completed a medical with relegated side Amiens ahead of a loan move to the French club – with a deal including a permanent option.
Lewis, 20, is regarded as one of the brighter prospects coming through the Liverpool academy at the moment and the England youth cap even made his senior debut for the Reds – during a 1-0 FA Cup win over Shrewsbury.
But with Liverpool boasting Andy Robertson and new signing Kostas Tsimikas as cover, Lewis has nearly zero chance of game time at Anfield. A loan was expected, but a move to France is perhaps more of a surprise.
The report claims Lewis has completed a medical on Monday ahead of a loan move to Amiens, while the option of a permanent deal has been included. It remains to be see how much it would cost to get Lewis beyond next summer.

TBR’s view – Good move for Lewis
Not only will he get regular game time at Amiens, but Lewis will also learn a different way of life in a different country and grow not just as a footballer. It is something Jurgen Klopp likes from his young players.
Nat Phillips has impressed at Stuttgart as they gained promotion back to the Bundesliga. Sheyi Ojo went on loan to Stade Reims and then Rangers, while Taiwo Awoniyi scored goals in the top tier of German football.
Lewis will be hoping to have similar impact, opening up his options next summer.
