Report: AC Milan eye Manchester City's Bernardo Silva; he's rejected Spurs move
AC Milan are looking to seize the opportunity to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City and are eyeing a £45m move for the Portuguese star.
The Sun reports that Bernardo is on the radar of Milan, who are keen on adding to their squad this summer. The Italian side have seen rivals Inter significantly weakened and are looking to take advantage.
The Sun suggest that Milan want to pay £15m for Silva. That would see him join on a two-year loan, before Milan then pay a £30m fee to make his move a permanent one. It is, of course, a complicated looking deal that City may or may not accept.
Silva has been told he can leave by Pep Guardiola. The midfielder was touted for a move to Tottenham as part of the Harry Kane deal. However, ESPN reported a few days back that Silva had rejected that notion.
Milan, then, could prove an attractive proposition for the Premier League winning star.
TBR’s View: Selling Silva shows strength of City
It truly is remarkable that City can consider selling Bernardo Silva and then not even weaken their squad a lot. That is how good they are.
Silva is a class act. But he can see the evolution at the club and Guardiola is happy to let him go if the money is right. The signing of Jack Grealish has dented his chances further, so this is unsurprising.
For Spurs, it’s a real shame that he’s said no. He’d have been a game changer for Nuno Santo. Alas, it is not to be, and Milan could now get their man.
