Arsenal loanee Lucas Torreira is reportedly set to request a permanent departure from the Emirates Stadium, according to Tuttosport.
The Uruguay international made the temporary switch from Arsenal to Atletico Madrid in the summer, but has barely featured for the Spanish side thus far.
To date, Torreira has made seven appearances in all competitions for Los Colchoneros, but just two of those have been starts.

In total, the 24-year-old has played under 200 minutes of football in the red and white stripes, and he’s now believed to be considering his future.
According to the Italian outlet, Torreira wants to end his loan spell at the Wanda Metropolitano before holding talks with Arsenal over a permanent move.
The £75,000-a-week enforcer joined the Gunners from Sampdoria in 2018 and has previously expressed a desire to return to Italy.
Spanish outlet Marca recently claimed that reported summer suitors Torino have rekindled their interest in the player.
TBR View:
Torreira hasn’t had the rub of the green at Arsenal, with Unai Emery trying – and failing – to turn him into a No. 10 and struggling to win his place back in the side after an ankle injury.
Atletico hasn’t exactly given him a new lease of life, so it makes sense for him to seek a clean break from both parties and seek a return to Serie A, where he flourished.
