Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is edging ever closer to a departure from the Emirates Stadium, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Diario AS claims that the Gunners man is all-but set for Atletico Madrid, and will travel to the Spanish capital overnight for a medical ahead of a loan switch.
The report adds that, while the finer details are unknown, the La Liga side’s idea was to include a purchase option for the 24-year-old.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are reportedly expecting to get 20m Euros (around £18m) for Torreira – if not this year, then next summer.
The Gunners signed Torreira from Sampdoria for a reported £26m in 2018 and, to date, he has made 89 competitive appearances for the Gunners, claiming 10 goal contributions.
His £75,000-a-week contract at Arsenal runs until the summer of 2023.
TBR View:
With Arsenal needing to sell before they can buy, Torreira is one player who has been linked with a departure from North London for a number of months and now it looks as though he’ll be on the move.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey, and getting Torreira off the wage bill and potentially recouping some money for his transfer would go a long way to raising funds for a late new arrival in the centre of the park.
