Everton have reportedly been handed a huge transfer boost as James Rodriguez is said to “welcome” the opportunity to reunite with Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.
Sport claims that the Real Madrid man has no future under Zinedine Zidane, and that he would be up for a reunion with Ancelotti, the coach who has “understood him the best” in recent years.
A prior report by Mundo Deportivo claimed that Everton are the suitors most interested in the Colombia international, with the Toffees head coach desperate to be reunited with him.

The Italian coached Rodriguez at Real Madrid and took him to Bayern Munich on loan while he was in charge there, as well as trying to bring him to Napoli last summer.
In the end, the player returned to the Bernabeu last summer after his lengthy stint at Bayern but has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane, having made just 13 appearances this term.
Rodriguez burst onto the scene after impressing with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup and winning the Golden Boot, prompting Real to sign him from Monaco for a reported £63million (The Telegraph).
He began brightly for Los Blancos, with 13 goals and 13 assists in La Liga in his first season, but he wasn’t able to hit those same heights going forward amid injuries and loss of form.
Real reportedly want €40million (£34million) for the attacker, who is also believed to be on the radar of Arsenal, Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
TBR View:
Rodriguez is undoubtedly a talented player, once considered to be amongst the best young players in the world, and on his day he is unplayable.
Admittedly he may haven’t had the best time at Real, while Bayern opted not to make his loan deal permanent, and he’s had his fair share of injury issues over the past few years.
However, Everton still ought to take a chance on him – aside from his great working history with Ancelotti, he would be a high-quality marquee signing which would create a huge buzz around Goodison Park.
If the latest report is true and Rodriguez is just as keen on working again with Ancelotti, then it looks as though it could be a perfect – and realistic – match.
