Mikel Arteta has spent this summer trying to shape Arsenal’s squad to the way he wants it.
The Spaniard made five new signings, and got rid of some of the players who were no longer required.

The 31-year-old is ‘helping the increasingly large Portuguese and Brazilian clan’, according to reports.
Cedric has yet to play a minute of football at The Emirates this season.
The Portuguese has been on the bench for four of Arsenal’s Premier League matches this season.
Arteta had a chance to rotate last week in the Europa League last week.
However, he gave Takehiro Tomiyasu his first start of the season and didin’t even place Cedric on the bench.
Cedric still valued at Arsenal
The Gunners signed Cedric from Southampton for £5m in 2020.
The right-back has provided cover for Hector Bellerin and Tomiyasu in his time at the club.
However, Arteta decided to start Ben White in that role with the Japanese defender still recovering from an injury.

The former Brighton defender has made the position his own, and has given Arteta a serious selection dilemma.
This has proved to be bad news for Cedric, who now finds himself as third choice.
Eddie Nketiah has previously called Cedric the funniest player in the squad.
And it’s looking more and more like Cedric’s value to Arsenal is in his off-the-pitch contributions.
