Report: £53m-rated Everton target is 50-50 to switch clubs this summer

A player linked with Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton is rated 50-50 to stay at his current club amid reports that the Toffees are willing to pay a club record sum for him.

Torino striker Andrea Belotti has clocked up four-and-a-half years in the Granata colours, having joined the Italian club in the summer of 2015 from Palermo.

The 26-year-old has registered an impressive 85 goals and 17 assists in 179 club appearances, and while at Torino has also established himself as an Italy international (Transfermarkt).

To date, Belotti has not been tempted by a move away, despite links with the likes of AC Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, according to Goal.

However, his loyalties could be tested in the summer, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that Everton have set aside a club record £53million in hope of securing his services.

Torino Granata has now reported that Belotti’s future is very much in the balance and there is a 50 percent chance that Belotti stays – or indeed goes.

Belotti’s €1.7million-a-year (£1.5million-a-year, or around £29,000-a-week) contract is up in the summer of 2022.

TBR View:

Belotti is an incredibly talented and prolific striker, boasting several key traits including speed, accelleration, strength, work-rate, tactical awareness and of course, an eye for goal.

While he may not have had the best season for Torino this time out at Serie A level, with just nine goals to his name, his overall strike rate for the club is testament to a superb talent.

At 26 years of age, he is very much in the prime of his career and it could be a good time to try out a new challenge – and what better place to do it than under the tutelage of one of the finest Italian coaches of all time?
