Turkish outlet Sabah have claimed that Serie A side Genoa have tabled an offer worth £5.2million for Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz, who has also been linked with a move to Newcastle United and West Ham United.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for Besiktas this summer, scoring three goals and creating three more in 25 league and cup appearances. He has even made his Turkey debut, earning two caps.
Tokoz is said to be interesting Genoa, Newcastle, West Ham and Watford while Atletico Madrid are said to have sent scouts to Besiktas to watch the midfielder. But Genoa’s bid is far below Besiktas’ asking price.

Indeed, Besiktas want an enormous £17.5million fee for Tokoz and the Turkish side have rejected Genoa’s initial bid. That leaves the floor open to an improved offer, with Newcastle and West Ham still keen.
TBR’s view
Tokoz is an excellent midfielder with much of his career ahead of him. But what Newcastle and West Ham must consider is that recent signings from Turkish football have struggled in the Premier League.
Cenk Tosun has struggled at Everton. It should leave both Premier League clubs wary that Tokoz could prove to be a flop in the Premier League. At £17.5million, it is a very expensive risk to make.
