Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will not feature against Porto on Wednesday night as he has not made the flight to Portugal this evening.
Arsenal’s focus turns to the Champions League this week after hitting top form in the Premier League.
11 goals scored and none conceded in the last two games is pretty incredible stuff and Arsenal would love the goals to flow against Porto too.
A strong display in the first leg would set Arsenal up for success ahead of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next month.
Mikel Arteta has been given a boost with Fabio Vieira’s return to training today and the midfielder has made the trip to Portugal to take on his former club.
Thomas Partey misses Arsenal trip to Porto
However, Thomas Partey will not be involved despite his appearance in training this morning.
Partey hasn’t played for Arsenal since the 1-0 win over Manchester City on the 8th of October having suffered setback after setback in his battle against injury.
Partey is back in training though and was spotted in action at London Colney on Tuesday morning, raising hopes of him facing Porto.
However, the London Evening Standard claim that Partey has not travelled on the plane to Portugal, unlike Vieira.

Mikel Arteta and co clearly feel that Partey isn’t quite ready for first-team action – especially in a crucial Champions League clash.
Partey has been missing for more than four months now and he will seemingly need a few more training sessions before making his long-awaited return to action.
Arsenal certainly need Partey back for big Premier League and Champions League games in the coming weeks and months.
The £45million signing from Atletico Madrid back in 2020 can make a big impact and potentially help Arsenal get over the line in multiple competitions.
Wednesday’s game comes a little too soon but, barring another setback, Partey should be back soon enough and will be looking to bolster an already-impressive Arsenal midfield.
