It appears Vurnon Anita is heading back to Leeds United. That is, however, according to Brabants Dagblad. In a piece highlighting Willem II’s summer recruitment process, they make it clear that Anita is expected to return to Elland Road.
Anita joined the Dutch side at the start of the season after Marcelo Bielsa decided he had no place for him in the current Leeds structure.
He has gone on to play 33 times for the club, which suggested they would be keen on keeping the 30-year-old. That does not currently seem the case.

TBR’s View
Anita, who actually captained the side earlier this season, has not always been a starter this season. Willem II will no doubt target younger permanent transfers with a better resale value, as is the norm in Dutch football.
As for Leeds, there is surely no chance Anita has a way back. He has not shown the sort of form that suggests a renaissance. In fact, the three-cap Dutch international, appears to be struggling to find his best form still.
Leeds fans never took to Anita and will probably be amazed to discover he still has another year left on his contract. The West Yorkshire side will no doubt hope to find a buyer for this flop in the summer.
