Harry Winks will remain at Tottenham Hotspur this season, unless there is a dramatic change of stance from both player and club, ESPN report.

Sticking around

There had been some suggestions that Winks has been put up for sale by Spurs.

However, the latest update claims that Winks has never been told that he is not part of Nuno’s plans.

Indeed, the England international midfielder is apparently happy to stay at Spurs and fight for his place.

Tottenham are, therefore, not expecting to lose Winks in the next few weeks, with Tanguy Ndombele a more likely player to depart.

Point to prove

If Winks does stick around at Tottenham then he will need to win over a growing number of doubters.

Winks was short of form last season, which may have been down to his lack of minutes, and he hasn’t made a particularly bright start to this one.

The 25-year-old put in a very poor display last night as Tottenham lost 1-0 to Pacos De Ferreira in their first game of the new term.

Winks has now slipped down the pecking order at Spurs, with youngster Oliver Skipp coming in to replace him.

And if he is to stop the question marks over his future, then he will have to start delivering on the pitch to force his way back into Tottenham’s starting line-up.
