Report: 24-year-old will not push to leave Arsenal this summer, he's perfectly happy at the Emirates

Central defender Gabriel will not push to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window amid interest from Juventus.

The Telegraph report that the 24-year-old is happy at the Emirates Stadium, where he has a contract until the summer of 2025.

Juventus could of course offer Champions League football to a player who is bound for the Europa League after Arsenal finished fifth.

But it seems that the Brazilian is not in any hurry to go anywhere when the market opens next month as Arsenal look to go again next term.

Gabriel will not push to leave Arsenal

Their report reads: “Telegraph Sport understands that centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes is happy at Arsenal and is unlikely to push for a move away from the club amid interest from Juventus.

Reports in Italy have named Gabriel as a top target for Juventus, although the Italian giants are yet to make any formal proposal for the 24-year-old.

The Brazilian centre-back is one of the most important members of the team and it would take a considerable fee for Arsenal to even consider his sale. Gabriel recently became a father and is understood to feel settled in London, where he is part of a strong Portuguese-speaking contingent along with Cedric Soares, Nuno Tavares and Gabriel Martinelli.

Arsenal were interested in signing Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo in January, and the Brazilian could be offered as part of a move for Gabriel, although Arsenal’s priority in midfield is now Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.

That is a boost for Arsenal, who want to add to what they already have this summer, rather than replace their top performers.

Gabriel and Ben White look like a strong partnership who will only get better as they develop and neither are at their peak yet.

It shows that Gabriel has faith in what Mikel Arteta is trying to do that he is seemingly not rushing to jump ship despite another season without Champions League football.
