Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is reportedly being sought after by Ajax, according to De Telegraaf.
The 24-year-old joined Tottenham in 2017 from the Eredivisie giants in a then club-record £42million deal.
Sanchez has made 134 competitive appearances to date for Spurs, but has found himself on the fringes of the first team this term.
The Colombia international has 17 appearances under his belt in 2020-21, and has missed out on nine Premier League matchday squads this season.
However, Tottenham are reportedly not willing to let any of their players leave this month.
Sanchez hasn’t had the best of seasons – not only has he had little game time for much of the campaign, but when called upon, he hasn’t done particularly well.
His performance and own goal against West Ham preceded an extended spell out of Jose Mourinho’s Premier League plans.
And even though Sanchez has managed to get more minutes under his belt since Christmas, his performances against Wolves and Fulham weren’t especially great, it has to be said.
But would Daniel Levy be prepared to let a player leave mid-season and risk the team being short of numbers due to injury or illness? It’s unlikely.
Chances are, the four-time European champions would have to wait at least until the end of the campaign if they want their former player back.
