Tottenham Hotspur new boy Cristian Romero’s hopes of playing against Manchester City have just improved, the London Evening Standard report.
Debut incoming?
Romero is set to join Tottenham from Atalanta in the immediate future, with an announcement possible today.
When he does arrive, Romero is expected to step straight into Tottenham’s backline.
And it seems that the Argentine could well have a real chance of featuring on opening day.
That is because Romero is double jabbed and travelling from an amber list country, so he will be exempt from having to quarantine.
That means that Romero can join in with Tottenham training as soon as he arrives.

Spurs will still go into next weekend’s game as underdogs, especially with Harry Kane unlikely to feature, but the 23-year-old’s potential inclusion should help.
If Romero is brought into Tottenham’s starting line-up then he could hardly be given a tougher task against the reigning Premier League champions.
But there are extremely high hopes for Romero at Tottenham, after he won Serie A’s Defender of the Year award last term.
