Harry Kane is reportedly set to remain with Tottenham next season with Daniel Levy digging in his heels with Manchester City.

According to the Times, Manchester City remains ambitious in signing the 28-year-old striker.

However, it is clear that Spurs’ chairman is not budging an inch over Kane. And it is now ‘increasingly likely’ that the attacker will stay in north London.

With Kane hitting 23 goals in the Premier League last season, it is understandable why both City want to sign the attacker and Spurs want to retain him.

Sergio Aguero left the Manchester giants this summer, leaving a sizeable void in the squad.

And with Levy having an infamous reputation of being aggressive and stubborn in negotiations for transfers, Tottenham always had the high ground when it came to dealing with Kane this window.

City have shown the true extent of their financial muscle this summer. Pep Guardiola paid a British record £100m for Jack Grealish. And the Premier League champions have since eyed Kane.

However, it now appears that the Spurs striker will spend another season in north London. This is despite reports suggesting that Kane is eager to depart his boyhood club.

Indeed, City will no doubt be aiming for silverware this season. The England star is yet to win anything in his career.

With just over two weeks of the window left to do business, there is still time for City to make an offer that could appeal to Levy. However, it will take some financial effort to please the Spurs chairman.
