Report: £22m Euro 2020 star expected to leave very soon after Liverpool show interest

Reported Liverpool target Donyell Malen is set to leave PSV Eindhoven in the next fornight, according to a report in De Telegraaf.

They say that PSV expect the Dutch striker to leave them before July 21st, although it is not Liverpool who are currently leading the race.

The latest update suggests that Borussia Dortmund are in position A to seal the transfer, which may disappointing many Reds fans.

Malen did his reputation no harm at Euro 2020, where his speed and dribbling skill caught the eye.

Bargain buy?

It was claimed in Gazetta Dello Sport that Liverpool were keen on blistering striker, who is available for £22 million.

At that price he could be one of the bargains of the summer, and would surely fit with what Liverpool are looking for right now.

The Reds’ attack was not at its brilliant best last term, and there is a feeling that an injection of energy will be required this summer, to freshen things up at Anfield.

Malen would have the pace to fit in with Liverpool’s current options, while also giving Jurgen Klopp a different type of number nine to pick.

While Roberto Firmino drops deep, Malen likes to play right on the shoulder of the last man, and his directness would surely increase Liverpool’s attacking threat next term if he was to join.
