Report: £22.5m clause to be inserted in Wolves man's loan move, four others could leave
Sky Sports have claimed on their Transfer Centre (10.36am) that Ruben Vinagre is set to join Olympiacos on loan from Wolves with a permanent clause of £22.5million included – and four others could join him in leaving before 11pm.
Vinagre, 21, already has 70 appearances in all competitions for Wolves – even though he has largely played back-up to Jonny. The latter suffered an injury of late, but Wolves have since signed Marcal from Lyon and teenager Rayan Ait Nouri.
A loan is expected but it is now believed to be a loan-to-buy deal – with Olympiacos set to have the option to sign him permanently for a whopping £22.5million. Four others could join Vinagre in leaving on loan.
Oskar Buur is set to join Dutch minnows FC Volendam on loan. Ryan Bennett and Roderick Miranda are surplus to requirements, while the impressive Dion Sanders is expected to join a Championship side – with two chasing him.
TBR’s view – Vinagre is worth keeping at Wolves
Certainly, the Portuguese ace has starred for Wolves during his early career and it is easy to forget he is still only 21 years of age. Though he may not be good enough to be first choice, keeping him on the books is crucial.
Including a permanent clause, then, is a strange decision – though he is set to join the Greek side and replace Konstantinos Tsimikas. The chances of Olympiacos spending as much as £22.5million is unlikely, though.
