Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson is now going to start against Fulham on Saturday after developments in the last 24 hours, according to the Northern Echo.

Wilson got off to a brilliant start to the Premier League season, scoring two goals in three games.

But the striker hasn’t played since scoring against Manchester City last month after being sidelined by another injury.

It’s been the story of Wilson’s Newcastle career so far since making the £20 million switch from Bournemouth back in 2020 (Sky Sports).

But after a month on the sidelines, the 30-year-old is now ready to start against Marco Silva’s side on Saturday.

Wilson going to start against Fulham

Newcastle travel to Craven Cottage this weekend and Eddie Howe’s options upfront were looking sparse just a few days ago.

Alexander Isak was forced to leave the Swedish set-up due an injury, while Chris Wood also suffered a blow to the ribs while playing for New Zealand.

But Howe has finally been handed some positive news as the Northern Echo reports Wilson has been given the green light to start against Fulham.

Howe apparently spent the last 24 hours ‘nervously awaiting’ updates on Wilson’s fitness.

And the striker is now back in full training and ready to go straight back into the starting XI on Saturday.

Newcastle were also concerned over the fitness of Bruno Guimaraes after the midfielder returned from international duty with Brazil.

But the former Lyon man is also ready to start against the Cottagers, the Northern Echo notes.

Howe will be delighted to have Wilson back just in time after injuries to Isak and Wood.

Wilson has been very unfortunate with injury setbacks during his time at St James’ Park, but has always produced goals when he’s been available.

The English striker will be hoping to stay fit and nail down a place in Howe’s side after the arrival of Isak over the summer.
