Everton are reportedly still interested in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks, who could be allowed to leave Spurs this summer, according to The Mirror.

The Toffees were apparently keen to sign the Tottenham academy graduate last summer, along with Spanish side Valencia.

Winks has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho this season, with 24 appearances under his belt and just seven Premier League starts.

Spurs were reported to have blocked two attempts by Valencia to sign him in the past 12 months, Mourinho adamant he was going nowhere this season.

However, The Mirror now claims that there is a willingness to let Winks go if the right offer comes in when the window opens in the summer.

The report adds that Everton remain keen on his signature, while Valencia are joined by Atletico Madrid and Sevilla in terms of Spanish suitors.

In terms of price tag, The Mirror believes Spurs will be after £15million to £20million.

Winks broke into the Spurs first team under Mauricio Pochettino and became an ever-present by the time the Argentine left the club in November 2019.

“Harry has the profile of the perfect midfield player,” Pochettino said in September 2018, as reported by the Evening Standard.

“His characteristics are perfect. When we talk about midfielders like Xavi and Iniesta, he’s like this type of player.”

Given his struggles for game time this season, it’s not surprising to hear him linked with an exit, and maybe a change of scenery might help get the best out of him.
