Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette is set for talks with Mikel Arteta over his Gunners future this week, according to Football London.

Lacazette joined Arsenal in the summer of 2017 for a reported club record £46.5million – and up to £52.6million with add-ons – on a five-year deal.

The Frenchman’s time at the Emirates Stadium has been fruitful for the most part – although he did struggle at times last season, he finished the campaign strongly and lifted the FA Cup.

However, Lacazette’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain, with the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus and Atletico Madrid linked with his services.

Indeed, Football London speculates that Arsenal have indicated to Atletico that they would be willing to package the 29-year-old in a deal for Thomas Partey.

Whilst Lacazette’s 2019-20 season wasn’t plain sailing all the way through, he finished the campaign strongly and it’s clear he still has plenty to offer Arsenal.

However, the £182,000-a-week man is arguably the Gunners’ most saleable asset at present, not to mention a reported target for Atletico, a team with a player Arteta is apparently very keen on signing.

In addition, Arsenal are well stocked in the attacking department – besides Lacazette, Arteta has Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah, Willian, Nicolas Pepe and Reiss Nelson all able to be called upon in the front three.

With a rebuilding job under way at the Emirates Stadium, combined with reduced finances in wake of the global health crisis, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will cash in on Lacazette in order to bolster their ranks.
