A young striker reportedly on Leeds United’s radar appears to have made a decision on his future, according to a report in TEAMtalk.
The Whites have been linked with Luke Chapman, a 17-year-old forward who has been plying his trade for Hartlepool’s academy.
However, he is now said to be available due to Hartlepool’s academy closing as they look to reassess their youth operations.

As well as Leeds, fellow Premier League side Newcastle and their north-east rivals Middlesbrough were said to be eyeing Chapman with a view to signing him.
According to the TEAMtalk report, however, is looks as though the teenager has picked a third north-east side as a potential new destination.
It is claimed that Chapman has joined Sunderland for pre-season training, with a view to sealing a deal with the Black Cats.
TBR View:
While Leeds are planning for their Premier League return and will seek to bolster their first-team ranks, it’s important not to take eyes off the academy.
Hartlepool have had some talented youngsters coming through their ranks but, as reported by TEAMtalk, they’ve had to cut costs in wake of their relegation to the National League.
As well as Chapman, the likes of striker Joe Grey, goalkeeper Brad Young, full-back Harrison Webster and midfielder Connor Rennison were also said to be on the way out.
Prior to the suspension of English football, Chapman scored a hat-trick in his youth team’s last fixture, a 3-0 win over Boston United, testament to his talent and potential.
However, it looks as though he won’t be coming to Thorp Arch and will instead opt to remain in the north-east.
