Tottenham Hotspur have travelled to Austria to take on LASK Linz on Thursday night in their fifth of six Europa League group games – and Football London have claimed that 16-year-old striker Dane Scarlett has also boarded the plane.
Spurs are within touching distance of achieving a place in the knockout rounds of the Europa League – even witout exceeding second gear. A win over LASK will be enough to go through, having beaten Ludogorets 4-0 last time out.
Born in 2004 and still only 16, Scarlett has been in sensational form this season – scoring 10 goals in nine Under-18 Premier League appearances this season. He made his debut for Tottenham last week, becoming the club’s youngest ever player.
Now, the latest report claims Scarlett has been included in Tottenham’s travelling squad to Austria. It remains to be seen if the England Under-16 star will be named on the bench or is simply travelling as a reserve option.

TBR’s view – Should Scarlett be rushed? Or keep progression steady?
Throwing him in at the deep end at such a young age is testament to the quality Scarlett continues to show with the club’s Under-18 side. However, should he be rushed into the first team – or should it be a more controlled rise?
Scarlett is yet to make his debut for the club’s Under-23 side. Surely, before becoming more involved with the first team, Scarlett needs to continue his development by getting game time in the second string – and then getting senior football.
