Report: £12.6m attacker wants to leave his current club and join PL, with Newcastle and Everton both keen to sign him

West Ham United and Newcastle United target Bamba Dieng wants to leave Marseille to come to the Premier League.

According to Foot Mercato, the 23-year-old forward and his club have both hoping they can secure a transfer before the window closes.

The report states that Marseille want £12.6m for the striker, but no club has matched their valuation yet.

Benfica and Fulham are also keen on Dieng, who has been told by current manager Igor Tudor that he is no longer needed by the Champions League side.

Dieng had his breakthrough season last year, breaking into Marseille’s first team and helping Senegal to win the African Cup of Nations.

Newcastle and Everton target Dieng wants to leave Marseille

Finding a new centre forward has been a common theme across many Premier League sides this summer.

Newcastle and Everton are two such teams, who have spent all summer linked with new forwards without being able to secure a player’s signature, while Leeds have also been credited with an interest in Dieng.

Newcastle missed out on Hugo Ekitike and Timo Werner, and still want a player who can compete with Callum Wilson and Chris Wood.

Everton have been limited in the transfer market this summer by spending in previous windows, and were forced to sell Richarlison in order to generate funds.

An injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin has left them short of options in attack, with Anthony Gordon picked to play as a centre forward in their first two games this season.

Dieng has only scored seven league goals for Marseille, but has shown plenty of attention and would fulfil the role of a good squad player for both sides.

Marseille will be hoping that a bidding war breaks out to get the most of the forward, and with all parties keen on a move to England, where he ends up in the Premier League will be interesting to see.
