Benji Mbunga-Kimpioka scored his second goal of the season to help guide Sunderland into the next round of the Checkatrade Trophy.
And considering Sunderland were playing Newcastle’s under-21 side, it was a significant goal for him to score.
Kimpioka scored a late header to add further gloss the score line and complete a 4-0 victory.
The teenager only made his debut this season but is already looking like an impressive talent for Sunderland.
Kimpioka made his debut in the 0-0 draw with Stoke’s under-21 team in the Checkatrade Trophy and has since gone on to make five appearances.
Although he has only played one minute of league action, Jack Ross clearly rates Kimpioka highly.
The 18-year-old netted his first professional goal in a Checkatrade Trophy match against Carlisle in October, scoring after just three minutes.
And now he has a second goal, helping Sunderland to triumph over bitter rivals Newcastle in the same competition.
Kimpioka nipped in front of the goalkeeper to nod past him with four minutes left on the clock.
Sunderland fans think the Sweden youth international has a big future and here is what they said about his Newcastle display.
