A number of Arsenal fans have reacted to speculation linking the Gunners with Palmeiras ace Danilo.

According to Brazilian outlet R7, Arsenal have made a bid of up to £21million to try and sign the 20-year-old.

The Gunners are light in midfield and could do with bolstering their ranks in the January transfer window.

Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is on loan at Roma.

Danilo would be a great shout for Arsenal, although it doesn’t look like Palmeiras will let him go easily.

The Brazilian club are reportedly keen to keep hold of Danilo this month.

They are participating in the Club World Cup in February, while the player himself has a contract until 2025.

In addition, Danilo’s release clause stands reportedly stands at a massive £86million.

The Brazil Under-20 international has already clocked up 83 competitive appearances for Palmeiras.

In addition, he already has three major trophies on his CV – two Copas Libertadores and a Brazilian Cup.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Danilo can can also operate box-to-box and as a No. 10.
