'What a player he is': One Liverpool star is 'ridiculously good' according to 19-year-old
Liverpool might have lost Remi Savage to Newcastle United this summer but the teenager has had a lasting impression left on him by Mo Salah.
Savage is hoping the move to St James’ Park can yield more first-team chances in the coming months and seasons. After over a decade at Anfield, he’s taken the bold decision to move to the Northeast.
However, he’s not gone up there without a fine education under his belt first. He trained the Liverpool first-team regularly, and admits to have been blown away by how good Mo Salah is.
“You couldn’t get near him. He’s so, so strong,” Savage told Goal.
“What a player he is. Ridiculously good. It was a great experience just to see someone like that up close, to see the level they are at. It motivates you to get better, work harder, to push yourself to your limit. That’s what those top players do.”
It’s no surprise to see Savage so impressed. Salah is a world-class footballer who has been at the very top of his game for years now.
The sheer amount of goals, assists, and his overall threat in attack is frightening at times. It’s little wonder, then, that Savage is so impressed.
The youngster will have learnt a lot, though. And in the long run, that can only benefit Savage and Newcastle United.
Obviously, playing with Mo Salah is an honour, and Remi Savage has managed to get that on his CV already at just 19.
