'Remarkable': West Ham boss David Moyes says Tottenham have an absolutely 'exceptional' player in their ranks
Kane won the Golden Boot in Russia in 2018 and is looking to be the first player to win the prize at consecutive tournaments.
In the Times, Moyes sung the praises of the England captain who is so central to Gareth Southgate’s hopes of success in Qatar.
Moyes on Kane
“England do possess some of the very best around. I see Harry Kane being as good as any striker,” said Moyes.
“The key is using Kane in the very best way and maybe Gareth will be looking at what Antonio Conte does at Spurs.
“Conte uses Kane brilliantly. He doesn’t ask him to press too intensely and use up too much energy and he understands how exceptional Kane is at linking up play, so when Spurs win the ball back he always has people running beyond him.
“Of course if a team are happy to build up without Kane he’s also brilliant at getting on to things in the box, whether it’s headers from crosses, back-post finishes, you name it.
“He’s a remarkable weapon for Gareth to have at his disposal.”
Kane has never won a major trophy and he has a chance to end that drought in the most emphatic possible way before the end of the year.
He will relish the chance to show what he can do on the world stage and he may also pass Wayne Rooney’s all-time Three Lions goalscoring record in the process.
England made the semi-finals in Russia, the final of Euro 2020 so it is clear what the next step is and if Kane can continue the form he has been showing this season, anything is possible.
