Reiss Nelson shares reaction as Matteo Guendouzi seals Arsenal exit
Reiss Nelson has shared his reaction on Instagram after Arsenal confirmed that Matteo Guendouzi has left the Gunners on loan for the coming campaign.
Of course, Guendouzi leaving has been on the cards for some time. He spent last year on loan at Hertha Berlin.
That came after he was reportedly told to train alone in the wake of Arsenal’s defeat at Brighton in 2020.
And it has now been announced that he has joined Marseille. Arsenal confirmed on their official website that he has moved on loan.
Sky Sports meanwhile, have reported that the Ligue 1 outfit have the option to make the deal permanent.
It remains to be seen if Guendouzi does seal a permanent switch to Marseille. But one thing that does not appear to be in doubt is that the 22-year-old has made his final appearance for Arsenal.
The midfielder took to Instagram following the announcement of his departure. And his message certainly dropped a clear hint that he is not expecting to return…
And amongst those to reply to his message was Nelson. The 21-year-old insisted that he was going to miss the Frenchman…
Reiss Nelson reaction to Guendouzi leaving likely to echo thoughts of many Arsenal fans
According to Transfermarkt, the pair played together 13 times for the Gunners. And of course, they are of a similar age.
So it is little surprise that Nelson is sad to see Guendouzi go. They are two of the players Arsenal fans would have expected the future team to be built around a year or so ago.
However, Guendouzi will now be looking to make a real name for himself elsewhere.
