For a lot of Arsenal fans, Serge Gnabry is the one that got away.
The German winger left the club in 2016 to join Werder Bremen, after an unsuccessful loan spell with West Bromwich Albion.

That would prove to be the environment for him to flourish, with Bayern Munich snapping him up in the summer of 2017 after just one year with Werder.
Since signing for the Bavarian giants, Gnabry has elevated his game to another level and made a total mockery of former Baggies manager Tony Pulis, who famously deemed him ‘not at the level’ to play for West Brom (via Independent).
Gnabry enjoyed a promising start at the Allianz Arena, scoring 10 goals and making eight assists in an injury-hit first season.

Last term, he made 42 appearances and scored 13 goals and made nine assists. His performances were good enough to land him the club’s Player of the Season award ahead of goal machine Robert Lewandowski.
Unfortunately for Arsenal fans, he’s slowly turning into the top player they feared he would become.
But maybe there’s someone at Arsenal who has the potential to stop them being regretful over the 24-year-old’s progress.
TBR’s view
Reiss Nelson is a highly promising young player who could well become the player Gnabry was supposed to at the Emirates Stadium.

The 19-year-old winger got decent game time last term for Hoffenheim, and is being trusted to make an impact for the first-team by Unai Emery in 2019/20.
Gnabry’s rise is going to sting, and Gunners fans need someone to help take their eyes off what he’s getting up to in the Bundesliga.
They need a new youngster to put their faith who can go on and become a top player – and Nelson is poised to be that player.
