Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports (broadcast on 17/5 from 19:00) that he is seriously excited about Armando Broja, insisting that the Arsenal target is a fantastic young player.
Broja is coming towards the end of his loan spell with Southampton. The goals have somewhat dried up for the Albania international. But he can still reflect on a hugely impressive year at St Mary’s.

Certainly, his performances for the Saints have attracted attention elsewhere. Reports have claimed that Arsenal are monitoring Broja, with Mikel Arteta a big fan of the forward.
Of course, the Gunners need to sign a new striker this summer. And it does seem that Broja does tick a lot of boxes for Arsenal, who have tended to sign players a couple of years away from their peak with huge potential.

And ahead of Southampton’s clash with Liverpool, Redknapp suggested that Broja’s ceiling is incredibly high – in comments that will certainly catch the eye of some Arsenal fans.
“He has this incredible pace and strength and if he gets the ball in the right positions he can finish really well,” he told Sky Sports.
“He’s a fantastic young player and I just want to see him get better and better, as he deserves every success.”
Broja a fantastic young player
There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Broja’s future. As things stand, he is set to return to Chelsea. So he will be waiting to see whether he features in the Blues’ plans next season.
Reports have claimed that Chelsea want £58 million for the 20-year-old if they cash in. And obviously, such a move would be a gamble given that he has not scored since February.
But Arsenal have taken gambles on players in the last 12 months. They stuck to their guns and spent big on the likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White.
So perhaps they will indeed look to make a move for Broja this summer.
