Red Star Belgrade defender Nemanja Milunovic believes it is the ‘right moment’ to be facing Tottenham Hotspur.
The north Londoners are in Champions League action against the Serbian outfit tonight and are looking for their first win in the competition.
Last time out Mauricio Pochettino’s side were thumped 7-2 by Bayern Munich and will be looking to bounce back in convincing fashion.
Spurs have won just three of their 12 games this season and are going through a tough period following the highs of reaching the Champions League final last season.
That feat is something Milunovic is still wary of despite the Lilywhites’ current poor form.
He said in a press conference (football.london): “Tottenham are in crisis at the moment but this is not reality for them. All these players played in the final last year.
“We have a lot of respect for them but we will play our game and create chances.
“This is the right moment [to play Spurs], but it’s dangerous.
“I just want to say again let’s not forget what kind of team we are playing against.”
TBR’s view – Spurs to finally arrive?
Tottenham have not arrived this season and appear to be experiencing something of a hangover from last term.
Tuesday’s game with Red Star represents a brilliant opportunity to make a statement though, especially in front of their own fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That said, the Serbian Super Liga champions are no pushovers so Spurs must show their opponents as much respect.
