Recent Ake valuation from Bournemouth surely rules out late swoop by Everton

Everton are reportedly interested in a move for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.

As reported by The Sun, the Toffees are plotting a move for Chelsea youngster Fikayo Tomori, but will also consider an alternative swoop for the Dutchman.

The club had hoped to sign Kurt Zouma in a permanent deal, but Chelsea look set to keep the Frenchman.

Despite Bournemouth’s poor defensive record last term, Ake impressed for Eddie Howe’s side and has really caught the eye since his £20 million switch from Chelsea (BBC Sport).

It is thought that Marcel Brands sees his compatriot as a potential long-term option at Goodison Park.

It has to be said though, Bournemouth’s recent valuation of the player makes a move highly unlikely.

TBR’s view

The Cherries will apparently demand £75 million from interested parties, as they do not want to sell and the player seemingly does not want to leave.

Ake is a great player and will keep getting better, but Everton’s hopes of landing him right now are surely dead.

Although obviously not a £75 million player, Bournemouth are well within their rights to demand such a fee, and Everton are surely not foolish enough to pay it.
