Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier earned praise from Premier League pundit Matt Holland in their meeting against Leicester.

Spurs fell behind after just six minutes when Youri Tielemans converted from the spot in a retaken penalty.

But just two minutes later, Harry Kane rose high to head home following a corner.

Then, in the 21st minute, Dier put Tottenham in the lead.

Perisic’s corner was flicked on at the near post by the £4million defender, who saw the ball fly inside the far post.

“It’s a wonderful delivery from Perisic,” Holland said on the Premier League website.

“It’s asking to be attacked and Dier just drifts towards that near post position.

“It is a really wonderful header from Dier but Leicester City undone once again from a corner.”

Sky Sports pundit Andy Hinchcliffe also praised the England international’s effort, as well as the delivery which preceded it.

“It’s a wonderful ball in and a considered header,” he said (17/9, 17:52).

“In a game that Leicester have dominated, it’s 2-1 Tottenham.”

However, Spurs were then undone just before the break by a James Maddison strike.

The Foxes star clipped a good finish just beyond the reach of Hugo Lloris and inside the far post.

Rodrigo Bentancur put Tottenham 3-2 up in the 47th minute, before Son Heung-min broke his goal drought in style.

The South Korea international came off the bench just before the hour and scored a superb hat-trick.

Son’s first came on 73 minutes as he drove forward after Leicester gave the ball away and rifled into the top corner.

Six minutes from time, the 30-year-old lashed a left-footed effort home – again, into the top corner.

And in the 86th minute, Son got his third, sliding the ball under Danny Ward, though he had to wait for a VAR check.
