'Really well': Eddie Howe names two players who have seriously impressed him in Newcastle training lately
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has paid tribute to Sven Botman and Bruno Guimaraes for their recent training performances.
Botman did not go on international duty with the Netherlands, preferring to stay behind and work on his adaptation to English football.
Speaking at his press conference ahead of the clash with Fulham, Howe said that Botman had impressed him lately in training.
He also hailed Bruno, who has been suffering with an injury problem lately, but is close to making his return to fitness.

Howe said on Botman: “Everything gets blown out of all proportion. I think Sven wanted to continue his learning and development here as he adjusts to the league.
“He’s done that really well and from the two weeks he’s had with us, he’s trained excellently and it has benefitted him.”
On Bruno, he added: “Bruno has trained with us. I had a few difficult calls during the international break to be told various things had happened to various players.
“We were concerned for Bruno but the scan was good so he’s trained and trained well. It’s slightly disruptive for him because these two weeks were important to him and getting his match sharpness back.”
Newcastle have had an impressive start to the season, and they now have to turn their frustrating draws into more wins to get to where they want to go.
Bruno has already shown the qualities which convinced Newcastle to buy him and Botman is looking to do that too as soon as possible.
Fulham have stunned many observers so far and this will be a tough game at Craven Cottage as Howe and Newcastle look for a victory after the international break.
