Tottenham were beaten in their clash with Bayern Munich over in Seoul this afternoon but there were reasons to be cheerful again.

Ange Postecoglou is looking for his team to step it up a notch in the coming weeks as the season draws ever closer to starting.

The Spurs boss has used pre-season well and while he’s keen to get his first XI firing, Ange has also used a number of young players as well.

Players like Lucas Bergvall have had plenty of minutes and the likes of Will Lankshear and Jamie Donley have also caught the eye, as has Mikey Moore.

Of course, the signing of Swedish starlet Bergvall is one that has had Spurs talking since January.

Over pre-season, Bergvall has shown his class and could well be in line for a hefty chunk of game time over the course of the new season.

And once again against Bayern Munich today, it looks like Bergvall has impressed.

Lucas Bergvall impresses for Tottenham against Bayern Munich

One man who Tottenham fans can rely on to give them honest feedback on performances is Football.London’s Alasdair Gold.

And over on X, Gold was on hand to give an insight into how Bergvall had performed in the opening 45 minutes before being taken off.

“Really positive second half so far from Bergvall. He looked tired in the last game, was taken off at half-time, and he’s looking very bright in this match,” Gold wrote.

Lucas Bergvall can save Tottenham millions

He’s still just a teenager and is very early into his career at Tottenham, but it already looks like Lucas Bergvall is a top player.

Once again today, he’s looked sharp and bright and shown he can mix it with the best players around.

Bergvall has caught the eye all pre-season really and it’s little wonder he keeps getting minutes.

For next season, Bergvall could well end up saving Tottenham a fortune in midfield and over the course of time, he’s already looking like a smart signing.

Tottenham fans, then, seem to have a new star on their hands here.
