'Really nice': David Seaman loved what Arsenal fans did in win over Palace tonight

Arsenal enjoyed a triumphant start to their Premier League season as they ran out 2-0 winners away at Crystal Palace.

The Gunners began brightly at Selhurst Park on Friday, and came close to taking the lead in the opening minutes.

Gabriel Jesus burst into the box and had a go at goal, before the ball fell for Gabriel Martinelli.

The 20-year-old blasted his effort wide, but made up for it in the 20th minute of the encounter.

Oleksandr Zinchenko headed a corner into the path of Martinelli, who duly provided the finishing touch.

Palace had their chances, with Aaron Ramsdale having to keep out efforts from Odsonne Edouard and Eberechi Eze.

Patrick Vieira’s charges pinned Arsenal back for much of the final 25 minutes, but the Gunners had the final say.

Bukayo Saka drove into the area and crossed into the six-yard box, Marc Guehi deflecting the ball into his own net.

Arsenal legend David Seaman took to Twitter after the game.

He lauded the travelling Gunners fans for singing Vieira’s name.

Seaman also praised Arteta’s charges for the great start to the season.

Arsenal are next in action next Saturday, when they host Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners then head to Bournemouth on 20 August before facing Fulham in north London a week later.

Arsenal then wrap up the month by hosting Aston Villa at the Emirates.
