'Really good': Sky Sports pundit wowed by one Tottenham player in tonight's clash
Sky Sports pundit Stephen Kelly praised Tottenham Hotspur forward for his Champions League goal against Marseille on Wednesday night.
Spurs made their long-awaited return to the top tier of European football with a fixture against Ligue 1’s second-placed side.
Tottenham struggled in the first half, with the visitors largely dominating proceedings.
Antonio Conte’s charges were then handed an immediate boost due to Chancel Mbemba’s sending off on 47 minutes.
Spurs looked brighter as the second half went on, with substitute Dejan Kulusevski injecting some pace.
And then, Tottenham made the breakthrough in the 76th minute, Richarlison heading home from Ivan Perisic’s delivery.
“They’ve not been great, they’ve not created much, but they’ve come up with a great goal at the right time,” Kelly said on Sky Sports News.
“It’s the first time they’ve gone out wide and put the ball in with real quality.
“There’s a little bit of movement from Richarlison, it comes off the shoulder of the defender and it’s a really good header.”
And nine minutes from time, the Brazilian made it two, nodding home off the woodwork from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s delivery.
Richarlison, eyeing up his hat-trick, then glanced a free-kick wide from six yards with two minutes remaining.
Though Marseille pushed hard for a consolation, Spurs held on for a 2-0 win.
