Ahead of West Ham United’s meeting with Arsenal tomorrow, David Moyes has now been given his thoughts on the tie.

West Ham will arrive at the Emirates buoyed by a 2-0 win against Manchester United before Christmas Day, and will now hope for another high profile scalp.

That being said, Arsenal are in formidable form themselves, refusing to lose at Anfield despite how well Liverpool played at times.

Mikel Arteta’s side have also excelled at home this season, and are yet to lose at the Emirates in any fixture.

And speaking at his press conference ahead of the game, West Ham’s David Moyes was quick to praise Arteta for how well he’s coped at a club as big as Arsenal.

Moyes spotted Arteta’s potential as a coach whilst he was playing under him at Everton, and he thought he had progressed very well since.

He said: “Mikel was always someone who had a deeper thought, was always thinking about football and always looking to prepare himself well.

“I think he comes from a really good background in terms of the clubs he’s been at, and then he’s worked under Pep Guardiola – one of, or if not the, best manager in the world.

“He’s dealt with becoming the manager of a club the size of Arsenal really well.”

Of course, Moyes will be hoping that he’s still one or two step ahead of Arteta heading into tomorrow’s game.

There are plenty of narratives ahead of the game, as well as another meeting for Declan Rice with his old club, Arsenal will also be looking to avenge a recent defeat in the League Cup.

A fairly lifeless Arsenal side lost 3-1 against Moyes’ West Ham side at the start of November, a performance not typical of Arteta’s side.

And the Spaniard will certainly be demanding a huge improvement when The Hammers visit tomorrow.

Jarrod Bowen has proved extremely strong on the road this season, scoring in seven of West Ham’s eight away trips.

However, the growing defensive partnership of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba will prove a tough test for any attacker.

That being said, it seems that some Saudi sides may now look to disrupt that blossoming partnership in January.
