Arsenal legend Kevin Campbell believes Jude Bellingham would be a perfect fit for the Gunners.

The 18-year-old is one of the best and most highly sought-after youngsters in world football.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could do with bolstering their midfield ranks in the summer.

Mohamed Elneny’s contract at the Emirates Stadium runs out at the end of the season.

And Ainsley Maitland-Niles – currently on loan at Roma – will reportedly be up for sale in the summer.

“Quality player”

Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka are Mikel Arteta’s current first-choice pairing in midfield.

But Campbell, speaking on Highbury Squad, feels Partey needs a midfield partner who can create and score goals.

And he thinks Bellingham would fit the bill for Arsenal.

“Quality player,” said Campbell.

“Someone who’s got legs, who fits in with the youth element, who’s got big capacity to grow as well.

“He’s of that standard that he’s already a full England international. That really fits our bill and ticks the box.

“We do lack goals from the midfield. Thomas Partey we don’t want to put goals on him because we know what his shooting’s like at times.

“The other player who plays with him who then tends to move a bit further forward has to be able to get in the box and score some goals for us.

“Has to be a little bit more creative. Jude Bellingham, you see him at Dortmund, he’s added that to his game.”

Can Arsenal convince Bellingham to join?

Bellingham is a player of the highest calibre, but as such, he’d be a very difficult player for any club to sign.

BILD – via the Daily Mail – claims the £84,000-a-week prodigy boasts a hefty £101million price tag.

While Arsenal freed up a lot of funds in January, they’ve got more pressing issues in terms of player recruitment.

The Gunners could find themselves without a senior centre-forward in summer, so that area is the highest priority by far.

And the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly eyeing Bellingham too – tough competition for the Gunners.
