Tottenham have a number of issues to address in the January transfer window.
Spurs are being linked with a plethora of defenders and midfielders, but one thing that hasn’t been mentioned much is the fact that Spurs still haven’t actually replaced Harry Kane.
Indeed, since Kane’s departure, Spurs haven’t actually signed a new number nine, instead opting to use the in-house solutions of Richarlison and Heung-Min Son.
However, a new striker will be needed at some point and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on Last Word on Spurs, Santiago Gimenez is a concrete target for Spurs.

Gimenez a concrete Spurs target
Jacobs shared what he knows about the £60m man.
“Yeah I think that Tottenham are assessing if they can bring in a wide forward or a goalscorer, I think a really concrete target is Santiago Gimenez, but that’s one for the summer, there will be no exit as I’m aware in January, or if there is to be one it would be an incredible amount of money for Feyenoord,” Jacobs said.
Risky
Gimenez looks like a brilliant player over in the Eredivisie, but how many times have we said that about an attacker over in the Netherlands?
Yes, some, such as Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez and Ruud van Nistelrooy come over and do brilliantly, but the likes of Memphis Depay, Antony, Alfonso Alves and Alireza Jahanbakhsh have all proven that the Dutch league is a very risky league to buy from.
Gimenez is worth a go at the right price, but Spurs really can’t afford to spend massive money on a player who is so unproven at the top level.
We’d advise caution to any club looking to sign Gimenez at the moment as good performances in the Eredivisie can be very deceptive when it comes to Premier League clubs targeting attackers in the Netherlands.
It remains to be seen if Spurs do indeed move for Gimenez.
