Real Madrid lifted their 14th European Cup on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League final at the Stade de France in Paris.
Carlo Ancelotti became the first manager to win the European trophy four times and it was the Italian’s second Champions League triumph with Los Blancos.

The Spanish giants have won the competition five times in the last nine years and they’ll already be planning their assault on a 15th European Cup.
But with several of Madrid’s stars in the latter years of their careers, TBR takes a look at Real Madrid’s potential 2027 XI.
Real Madrid’s potential 2027 XI

Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian’s nine saves in the Champions League final was the most of any keeper in a single final since 2003-04, according to OptaJoe.
Courtois will be 35 come the start of the 2027-28 campaign and given his imperious form and winning his first Champions League, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the former Atletico Madrid man still be Real’s number one in five years time.
Reece James

According to Marca, James is open to the idea of moving to Spain because he ‘likes’ Real and in five years time he’ll be approaching his prime years at 27.
The England international is one of the most attack-minded right-backs across Europe and he’d certainly contribute to Madrid’s attacking phases of play from deep.
Chelsea wouldn’t want to lose a star of their academy, but if James is keen to embrace a new challenge – it’ll be hard for the Blues to stand in his way.
Éder Militão

The Brazilian will be 29 come 2027 and he’ll no doubt be hoping to add to his first Champions League success during that period.
Following the departures of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane last summer, the former Porto man has stepped up to the plate and established himself as a key part of Ancelotti’s side.
Pau Torres

The second addition to Real Madrid’s potential 2027 XI is Villarreal and Spain defender Torres who isn’t likely to stick around with his beloved Yellow Submariners for much longer.
The ball-playing centre-back, who could replace fellow left footer David Alaba in the side, would be a classy addition for Los Blancos who would be 30 by that time and be in his prime years.
Theo Hernández

Ferland Mendy would be 31 by the time the 2027 campaign kicks off, but we’ve gone with his French compatriot and former Real Madrid man Hernandez to be lining up at left-back.
The pacey Hernandez has been a driving force in helping AC Milan win their first Scudetto in 11 years and from 122 games for the Rossoneri, Hernandez has 20 goals and 23 assists to his name.
Madrid aren’t afraid to admit their mistakes and re-sign players, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Hernandez back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Aurélien Tchouameni

Replacing Casemiro, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is a nigh on impossible task for Florentino Perez, and the pressure on the players replacing the club legends will be huge.
But it looks like Madrid have already got the wheels in motion to start assembling a new world-class midfield combination with talks between Madrid and Monaco ongoing regarding Tchouameni, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The classy all-action midfielder, who is only currently 22, would be a great signing for Los Blancos.
Eduardo Camavinga

Camavinga is three years younger than his compatriot Tchouameni and he’s had a solid first season in the Spanish capital, following his big-money move from Rennes last summer.
The French pair could dominate midfields and play alongside each other for club and country for many years to come.
The left footer’s injection of energy and quality from the bench was vital en-route to Madrid’s Champions League triumph.
Jude Bellingham

Former England and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes that England’s top clubs should all be breaking the bank to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.
But the worry for the Premier League’s top sides is that Real Madrid see the former Birmingham City youngster as Modric’s successor.
Bellingham would still only be 23 come 2027, but there is every chance he could be spearheading Madrid’s new-look midfield into yet another era of success.
Vinicius Junior

Under the stewardship of Ancelotti, everything has clicked together for the Flamengo youngster this season and he’s established himself as one of the most devastating talents on the planet.
With Los Blancos keen to tie the dazzling Brazilian forward to a lucrative long-term deal, Vinicius is a key part of Madrid’s present and future.
At the age of 22, Madrid’s number 20 and the 2022 Champions League final matchwinner is only going to get better and that’s a frightening prospect for the rest of Europe.
Kylian Mbappe

The World Cup winner may have shocked the footballing world when he signed a new three-year deal with Paris Saint Germain, but it still seems inevitable that a chapter with Real Madrid awaits, despite his recent snub.
Mbappe will be 27 come 2027 and he’d have plenty of years left in the tank to create a legacy with Los Blancos.
Following the days of BBC (Bale, Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo) and MSN (Messi, Suarez and Neymar), Madrid could unleash VHM (Vinicius, Haaland and Mbappe) in 2027.
Erling Haaland

The Norwegian phenomenon has signed a five-year contract with Manchester City and that gives the former Dortmund man plenty of time to fire City to Champions League glory and continue their domestic dominance.
Come the end of Haaland’s contract in 2027, he’ll be 26 and likely be ready for another chapter which could come via Madrid, and City’s new signing wouldn’t be fazed by the prospect of filling the void left behind by Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema.
Seeing Mbappe and Haaland in the same side could be a sight to behold and the world-class pair complete Real Madrid’s potential 2027 XI.
