Real Madrid are interested in bringing Liverpool forward Sadio Mane to the Bernabeu during the summer transfer window, according to France Football.
They report that the Spanish side had an interest in Mane last season – at the end of which he was hugely impressive in Liverpool’s 3-1 Champions League final defeat against Real.
And the return of Zinedine Zidane to the Madrid hotseat has apparently reopened the possibility of a swoop for Mane, who has been on rampant form for Liverpool of late; stepping into the breach as Mo Salah’s goalscoring return has faded.
But Madrid have also been linked with another Premier League left-winger for a long period of time – Eden Hazard – and the Daily Record report that there is an offer on the table for the Belgian from the European champions.
Following Sunday’s defeat at Everton, Chelsea sit sixth and their hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League are in the balance, as well as the future of manager Maurizio Sarri.
Add in the transfer ban at Stamford Bridge for the next two windows and there are more reasons why Hazard would want to leave west London than Mane wanting to leave Liverpool.
Those struggles should offer a major boost to Liverpool’s hopes of keeping Mane – who would surely not move to Real if they have already signed Hazard in his position.
