Arsenal are under pressure from Real Madrid to give them a decision on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by the middle of next month or face missing out on a deal.

Aubameyang is widely expected to leave the Gunners this summer. His huge wages, coupled with his age, have seemingly convinced Mikel Arteta to cash in on one of his best players.

The Gabon striker has a year left on his Arsenal deal but is not expected to sign a new deal.

And while Madrid remains keen on landing Aubameyang, they will not wait all summer. The Mirror reports that the Spanish giants want an answer by the 15th of June.

A number of different bid options are thought to be being considered by the La Liga club. The inclusion of Dani Ceballos in a deal is something that could happen, while Madrid could still also pay the apparent £40m asking price.

Aubameyang has been in fine form once more for the Gunners this term. He is their top scorer, following on nicely from landing the Golden Boot last season alongside Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

If Arsenal have an inkling that their star man will leave, then there’s little point in them hanging around and wasting time.

They’ll need a replacement ASAP. That means they might as well cash in when they can and start shopping around for new players as quickly as possible.

The transfer market is expected to look quite different this summer. Revenues are going to be down thanks to the global situation at the moment, so there’ll be a rush to get the best players available in quickly.

Arsenal, then, can’t afford to be left trailing.
