Here is a look potential acquisitions that could be playing for the Spanish giants next season.
Gareth Bale – Tottenham
Real Madrid are leading the chase for the services of Gareth Bale.
The 23 year old Tottenham midfielder has been associated with a move away from White Hart Lane following an amazing season for the club, in which he was able to score 21 goals in 34 Premier League games.
Wayne Rooney – Manchester United
Wayne Rooney is set to be the subject of a £30m bid from Spanish club Real Madrid, supposing that he is unable to patch up his differences with Manchester United in the near future.
Rooney’s preference is to join Jose Mourinho at Chelsea if he decides to stop playing at United.
However, Madrid will be favourites to sign the striker should he want to move abroad.
Luis Suarez – Liverpool
Liverpool are now ready to listen to offers for Suarez, but they have made it clear that they will not accept any offer below the £40 million clause in the Uruguayan’s contract, which triggers a transfer.
Suarez has previously praised Real Madrid in order to increase the likelihood of a move from Anfield to Bernabeu.
Asier Illarramendi – Real Sociedad
Real Madrid will reportedly complete the transfer for Real Sociedad defensive midfielder, Asier Illarramendi in the next 72 hours, with the transfer fee expected to be close to the player’s €30 million release clause.
According to Spanish sports daily, AS, Real Madrid and Real Sociedad are in advanced negotiations with Los Blancos paying the full €30 million, but not the income tax, which will be taken from the player’s salary, thus ensuring a sizeable payday for the Basque side.
Nemanja Matic – Benfica
Real Madrid are on the search for a young central midfielder as a replacement for Xabi Alonso in the future and Matic has been added to a list of possible choices.
However, the Serbian midfielder will not be available for a low price. This is because Benfica are asking for £42 million, which is enough to trigger the player’s release clause.
