Real Madrid fans react to Carlo Ancelotti appointment after Everton exit

Carlo Ancelotti left his role as Everton manager on Tuesday evening to take charge at Real Madrid, and some Madrid fans on Twitter are overjoyed with the news.

Madrid have filled their vacant position by appointing the 61-year-old manager. The Italian will take charge as head coach and will be extremely familiar with his surroundings.

He previously managed Spanish heavyweights Madrid, winning four pieces of silverware and winning 89 games in just 119 games in charge.

For Everton fans, this news has come out of nowhere.

The high-profile boss has walked out the exit doors at Goodison Park after only 18 months in charge.

Celtic strike Premier Sports deal - is this the "additional value" we've been waiting for?

He’s a massive favourite with Everton supporters and received a cult status after beating Liverpool at Anfield back in February.

Ancelotti attracted some big names to the Merseyside club and it’ll be interesting to see what happens to them following his departure.

He’s opted against seeing out Everton project by returning to Madrid, who are in desperate need of change after failing to win silverware this season for the first time since the 2009/10 campaign.

Madrid fans trust Ancelotti

It’s hard to argue that Ancelotti isn’t a great appointment for Madrid.

Firstly, there should be no problem for him to hit the ground running at his former club. Secondly, there is a talented squad at his disposal. Finally, he will be heading to the Bernabeu with the desire to win more trophies.

A selection of Madrid supporters expect him to be a success.

The manager carousel continues to go round, and Everton fans will want to see who has to step into the big shoes of Ancelotti.

He’s likely to be remembered fondly for the Toffees, but perhaps there is a feeling he could have stayed longer to see the job through. Unfortunately, many will see his summer departure as a big backwards step.
